Corrections Officers Fired for Smuggling Contraband Cellphones

The Department of Corrections in Guam stated that several correctional officers have been dismissed after smuggling contraband cellphones into facilities.

The findings by the DOC resulted in a release, a termination and a resignation by prison personnel. The department has committed to cracking down on the contraband.

CJAM.com works with jails, prisons and correctional facilities worldwide to provide safe cellphone detection, control, and jamming techniques to prohibit the use of illegal cellphones.  Visit CJAM.com for more information.

California to Implement Managed Access in Prisons

The Contra Costa Times has reported that the Avenal State Prison in Central California will be installing managed access technology in an attempt to block illegal cellphone calls by inmates.

There were over 10,000 contraband cellphones confiscated in 2011, a number that continues to rise year after year.  Inmates are now using the illegal cellphones to further their criminal activity.

The expectation is for the managed access technology to be installed throughout California's prison system over the next three years.

CJAM works with prisons worldwide to implement cellphone detection, control and jamming solutions to combat contraband cellphones.  We have successfully deployed Managed Access Systems in prisons in the United States, and now also offer auditing services to test the efficiency of existing systems.
